A Quote for life!

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

Life does not stop for you – does it? It goes on, like always. The same guy keep on delivering the newspaper in the morning and the same milkman brings milk. Your absence is felt for some time – and is forgotten in some time. Rest goes as usual. What makes you stand out? What makes you felt? A few decisions and a few steps you take in life? Yeah … may be. But it is too awful to even think that you are not missed anymore and you are not being felt. Worst becomes the case, when you are still alive!

Think of a world that is working day and night – all around you – you can see them, but they cannot. Rather, they do not see you. It’s like being neglected, being unused, being abandoned and left out. It’s not a good feeling at all. Everybody wants to be involved in whatever is going around them. In your office, if nobody asks you any doubts or none seek your suggestion or if they are always happy to not see you in office, can you work there anymore? Oh! Forget about the office – more dreadful case. You come home and see the same in your family. Your father does not ask you before selling the old motorbike; your mother does not care to bother you in booking the tickets for the next winter vacations and your wife never asks you what she should cook. How wonderful, isn’t it?

It’s too bad a situation! You are not wanted – not anywhere. What do you do? What you can do? Live or leave? I have always been chosen to live and leave in times of need. I have left much to live with some. I have left many to live with few. I may leave and let live. Live for what? What I felt would be the best for me. The best! The best, however, is too little!

When you move in life – when you take a few decisions and you take a few steps in life, you always keep going through hurdles and you come out triumphant. You achieve what you always wanted to achieve and you consider that as a Boon from the All Mighty above. A gift you can rejoice for your entire life. You are happy and since you are victorious, you are being liked by all around you. You win!

Take a look again. What is it all about; a boon? Is it worthy? The toil you did; the oceans you sailed; the deserts you travelled; the people you left; the nights you were awake all contribute to what you have today. There is no going back. There is not “thukku” (excuse) for going back now. You are way to ahead in life. All you can boost upon is that you are on a way that you have chosen. Your decision – your thought and your realization of your own dream! Take pride! But the boon – the prize you have now? What if it is not yours? What if the prize is not a prize at all? What if it is a wrath in disguise?

You are unforgetful, however hard one tries; you touch hearts, maybe hurt the people you care for, but you will always be remembered, dilse
